I loved it, so I'm very grateful to JCNL and Eva for introducing me to this wonderful book. Compare and contrast the description of the life and exploits of one of the female examplars of Pizan (e.g. Every woman (and man) should have been taught about Christine de Pizan and her Book of the City of Ladies — clearly an outstanding thinker of the ages — at school. It is very fair to add she never sought to overthrow this hierarchy, merely wrote a guide for ladies on how to survive it, amongst other practicalities.
